Mr. Mayor, Just Read the Decision Before You Get Fancy with the New Laws

Despite the clear ruling of the Supreme Court in the Heller decision, the DC government is still looking for a way to deprive its citizens of their rights. That’s to be expected. The DC government has a long history of being horribly detrimental to the health and well-being of its residents. It’ll take a few more smacks on the nose with a rolled-up Constitution to get it through their heads that they can’t simply do whatever they want just because they want to.

But before the smacking, perhaps Mayor Fenty and his crew should read the majority decision. See-dubya, ever the helpful soul, even gives them the only paragraph they need to read to get the point.

Mayor Fenty has done quite a lot when it comes to cleaning up his twin cesspools of the police department and the educational system. Perhaps getting his head right on his people’s Constitutional rights will help him get a handle on the crime problem, too.
