McCain Smash Puny Dictator Underling!
McClatchy has a breathless account of John McCain’s fiery and barely-controlled temper. It seems that on a diplomatic mission to Nicaragua, Johnny Mac grabbed a Sandinista lickspittle by the collar and gave him the business. Here’s how Senator Thad Cochran, who apparently barely controls the impulse to dive under a desk and assume the fetal position at the rumor that McCain might be coming down the hall, described the incident.
McCain was down at the end of the table and we were talking to the head of the guerrilla group here at this end of the table, and I don’t know what attracted my attention,” Cochran said. “But I saw some kind of quick movement at the bottom of the table and I looked down there and John had reached over and grabbed this guy by the shirt collar and had snatched him up like he was throwing him up out of the chair to tell him what he thought about him or whatever. I don’t know what he was telling him but I thought, good grief everybody around here has got guns and we were there on a diplomatic mission. I don’t know what had happened to provoke John, but he obviously got mad at the guy and he just reached over there and snatched him.
Oooooooh! Veeery scary!
I suppose this is supposed to make us all very worried about Johnny Mac’s impulse control and vote for the even-tempered and mild Barack Obama. It makes me want to vote for McCain even more. I’m one of those guys who believes that sometimes you should smack around a nasty little thug. Sure, talking is nice, but once in a while the only thing a bully will understand is that you’re not afraid to deliver an Old Testament-style beatdown. If McClathy is trying to scare folks away from McCain, I’m afraid their article might have the opposite effect, especially if you know anything about the Ortega regime.
I think that snatching him up by the collar was the least he could have done, considering what Ortega’s mouthpiece no doubt had condoned. I think, given the company, John McCain has an estimable amount of restraint.

Exactly what the Sandanistas did to that bastard Somoza. The Contras have plenty of blood on their hands, too.
