The Dems Cant Even Bring Their Convention In on Budget
Imagine how good they are with a three trillion dollar budget!
NEW YORK (AP) – Facing an $11.6 million budget shortfall, organizers of the Democratic National Convention are cutting events while hoping Barack Obama’s emergence as the likely presidential nominee will spur his vast army of donors to pony up.
The convention’s Denver host committee reported it has deposited $29 million of the $40.6 million it promised to the Democratic National Committee by a Monday deadline. The overall convention budget is about $70 million.
The Republicans aren’t winning and prizes for fiscal responsibility either. But at least the Republicans have people working to cut out the corruption and waste and bribes we call “earmarks”.
At least there is some small hope that conservatives can turn the rudder just a little bit and start the move toward treating the Federal budget like it’s your money instead of theirs. There are only a few of them, but it’s a few more than the Democrats have.
Maybe the DNC should hire a couple conservatives to run their convention finances.

I know these things must cost a lot of money, but $70 mil. is AAAALLLLOOOOTTTT of money! What on earth could cost that much?
