There is something greatly comforting to me in the image of my President bent over some papers, the Oval Office lit mostly by his desk lamp, and a cigarette burning in a big ceramic ashtray. I have an itch in my head that tells me that many of the Presidents I'd consider the best were smokers. I could be wrong about that, though. I may have to hit Google tonight.
