Even the most conservative of my friends thinks Obama is brilliant, even if they think he is wrong.
You know that glowing affect & white-ish aura you keep seeing surrounding him in pictures is just photo-shopped, right? He's not really that brilliant.

I love it when Obama-nuts come in here just long enough to defend their guy....if you had looked around here much, you would know that most conservatives at this blog are not going to lift a finger to defend McCain. So pointing out Obama's glaring idiocy is not so much part of a larger strategy to win as it is just fun to watch people like you squirm trying to defend him, or suddenly becoming so compassionate & understanding of how hard campaigning & politicking is on a guy.

Never mind, a politician claiming that 10,000 people were killed in a city whose pre-storm population was less than 2000....who can know such things? LOL

Tom - I don't think he's dumb. I think the pressure of speaking extemporaneously gets to him and he screws up. I wonder, when the pressure is on, what other pretty basic facts he's going to forget.

As for making fewer gaffes than the other candidates, you're wrong. By my count, he's made more than all of the combined. He's certainly made more than Dan Quayle did.

I'd have to say, I agree that implying Obama is dumb is not a winning strategy. The guy is clearly brilliant, and has frankly made fewer gaffes than any of the other candidates. McCain didn't know the difference between Sunni and Shiite. Being in such support of the war, you'd think he would know something about the major causes of the ongoing strife.

That said, I generally like McCain. I've given him money before.

When you are in the limelight 24/7 for 6 months, you're going to say some things in tired moments, brain farts, etc. Every single politician has had those moments. You and the rest of the right wing hacks really do yourself a disservice harping on such inanity.

"Obama was editor of law review at Harvard"

Maybe he really was a diversity hire. I was assuming this couldn't be the case because he was so smart. Or so we've been told.

Yeah, bryan, he does appear to be a real winner.

How many states are there again? 48? 57?

When you figure that out, let him know, would you? Thanks, man. Much appreciated.

FYI, I don't have to position him as anything. His mouth seems to be doing just fine.

Spare me. Obama was editor of law review at Harvard and probably the most erudite politician in the US Government right now. Bush can't even freaking pronounce the simple word "nuclear" correctly after 8 years. Trying to position Obama is a dope isn't a winning strategy. Stick to the race-baiting stuff, that's a better strategy for your side.
