Uh, oh, Senator McCain. You’ve lost John Hawkins and you know what they say. If you lose the Hawkins vote, you’ve pretty much lost the blogosphere. Hawkins has been one of the most faithful supporters of McCain, with two columns under his belt at the conservative gathering place Townhall.com. They were entitled “Why You’re Going To Vote For John McCain In November And Like It!” and “There’s Nothing Conservative Or Principled About Helping A Democrat Beat John McCain In November”, so it’s not like he’s been shy in his support. Now he’s firmly in the “I won’t help him but I won’t hurt him” camp.
That gives me an opportunity, though. John, come on over to the dark side. I promise that endorsing Hillary Clinton doesn’t really hurt for long. There’s a small twinge of sadness in your soul as you realize what a bunch of blithering idiots populate the leadership of the Republican Party and a slight pulling sensation like ripping off a Band-Aid. After it’s done, though, you feel much more free. Ask Drew M over at Ace O’Spades, who endorsed Hillary just two weeks ago. I’ve already decided to take the Hillary Plunge myself and I feel great!
I don’t have the finger-lightning yet, but soon! Very soon. It’s coming in my Universal Health Care package.
