Barack Obama Really Needs to Check His Package Right Now.
Well, golly, after months of treating Barack Obama like the opponent he’d rather not fight, John McCain has sent forth his campaign to scorch him mightily. The background in a nutshell is this: Hamas said they wanted Obama to win and compared him to John Kennedy. Obama’s campaign manager responded by rejoicing that he and Hamas had such perspicacity in common while mumbling something about how bad it is that Hamas is a bunch of butchers. McCain used the Hamas quote to say, oddly enough, that Hamas wanted the Obamessiah to become Presdent.
Today, Obama took to the airwaves to cry on Wolf Blitzer’s shoulder about how unfair John McCain was being. The word “smear” was used as was the phrase “name calling”. Kleenex were, no doubt consumed backstage by the boxful.
Johnny Mac, apparently isn’t having any of that, though. He fired back through his campaign manager in a way that ought to make it really tough for Obama to sit down for a couple days. Also, he should check his manhood to see if it’s still intact. It’s quite possible that when he read the statement (well, had it read to him. People of his elite status don’t do their own reading) his genitalia retreated to somewhere around his gall bladder. The statement is below the fold.
First, let us be clear about the nature of Senator Obama’s attack today: He used the words ‘losing his bearings’ intentionally, a not particularly clever way of raising John McCain’s age as an issue. This is typical of the Obama style of campaigning.
We have all become familiar with Senator Obama’s new brand of politics. First, you demand civility from your opponent, then you attack him, distort his record and send out surrogates to question his integrity. It is called hypocrisy, and it is the oldest kind of politics there is.
It is important to focus on what Senator Obama is attempting to do here: He is trying desperately to delegitimize the discussion of issues that raise legitimate questions about his judgment and preparedness to be President of the United States.
Through their actions and words, Senator Obama and his supporters have made clear that ANY criticism on ANY issue — from his desire to raise taxes on millions of small investors to his radical plans to sit down face-to-face with Iranian President Ahmadinejad – constitute negative, personal attacks.
Senator Obama is hopeful that the media will continue to form a protective barrier around him, declaring serious limits to the questions, discussion and debate in this race.
Senator Obama has good reason to think this plan will succeed, as serious journalists have written of the need for ‘de-tox’ to cure ‘swooning’ over Senator Obama, and others have admitted to losing their objectivity while with him on the campaign trail.
Today, Senator Obama is complaining about comments John McCain made about a senior Hamas advisor stating that Hamas would welcome Senator Obama’s election as president. Indeed, on April 13th, senior Hamas political advisor Ahmed Yousef said, ‘We don’t mind – actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance.’
The McCain campaign has never suggested that Senator Obama supports Hamas’ agenda, but it is more than fair to raise this quote about Senator Obama because it speaks to the policy implications of his judgment.
Just today, the president of Iran, whom Senator Obama wants to meet with unconditionally, called the state of Israel a ‘stinking corpse.’ Iran is the paymaster and state sponsor of Hamas.
In his victory speech this week, Senator Obama stated that ‘wisdom’ is meeting with our enemies, including Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, North Korea’s Kim Jong Il, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Cuba’s Raul Castro. John McCain couldn’t disagree more. Rather than giving tyrants and dictators the prestige of meeting with an American president, John McCain will instead meet with the champions of human freedom around the world and opposition leaders fighting for liberty .
We understand why Senator Obama doesn’t want to engage in a debate over leadership and judgment with John McCain, but the American people demand that debate take place.
These are serious times that call for a serious debate on the profound issues facing our future. John McCain is ready for that debate and we hope Senator Obama will one day get serious and join it.
Barack Obama has now been called out. Let us see if he has the guts to debate McCain without resorting to his typical whining and hiding.

McCain want's to make a big deal out of a Hamas endorsement presumably because Obama appears to have the advantage among Jewish voters. That's my guess anyway. Kind of a desperate cheapshot IMO.
It was another cheap shot from McCain – who continues to say one thing and do another. The only whining came from the McCain camp who tried to turn it into an 'age' reference when it was clearly no such thing. It was a 'hypocrisy' thing from John "I'll say anything to win" McCain.
My .02
Looks like the perpetual whiners of the ultra-left Obamaniac wing will approve sitting down with Ahmadodojihad & Hamas ’splodin’ dudes because preconditions….or what?
Obama is a fool and a lot of his supporters are totally delusional. It’s the Big Leagues now and he’s gotta man up and stop whining. He said some stupid things & as his "mentor & pastor" would say, the chickens are coming home to roost.
Obama should get a pair of stones and stop whining while he plays dirty against McCain & Clinton. Does he actually believe that blacks & eggheads & a media that let him pander will get him the presidency? Too many sensible people out there—ain’t gonna happen.
And of course, his surrogates will say that anything referring to his own race & his pastor’s rants will be racism—did anyone hear him mention "typical white person" about his grandma, who raised him while his worthless drunk bigamist daddy abandoned him at two. That’s gratitude!
And he told Wolf yesterday that he could win the votes of "hard-working white people." Is that a racial slur against blacks?
He’s an amateur.
Chen – Everyone should make it a big deal when Hamas endorses one of our candidates.
Nick – He hit Obaba so hard it hurt you, didn't it?
If you want to, fine, have at it. But look at it this way, they'll know that they can have an effect on our political process if you do. Maybe next time they'll endorse your guy, just to mess with us some more. See where I'm going with this?
It's funny, the same type of thing happened in '04, when people pointed out that most of the world would rather not see Bush get reelected, and were quite vocal about it. The response from Bush supporters? Who cares; we don't elect on international consensus; etc. So I say: Who cares what some Hamas thug thinks about who we should elect?
Chen – It matters insofar as Hamas is basing its endorsement on who it believes will be most beneficial to its future based on the track records and public statements of both those individuals. If they think they'll be better off with Barack Obama as president, we should take that into consideration and investigate why they think that is so. It seems to be that, based on each man's record, the answer isn't tough to find.
