It’s a Sad Day When an 8-Year Old Has to Call You Out.
This is a beautiful video – simply beautiful. Not only is Monica Conyers, the wife of Democratic Congressman John Conyers, dressed down for her crass public behavior as a member of the Detroit City Council (“Motto: One Day We’ll Find a Mayor Who Doesn’t Choke a Bitch!”), she’s lectured about proper public comportment by an 8 year-old. It’s like watching a trailer from a brand-new remake of Freaky Friday.
God bless that young lady’s parents for teaching her not just good manners and respect for authority but how to stand up for yourself in front of a self-righteous, excuse-making bully.
Pity the poor people of Detroit who, mired in identity politics and a corrupt Democratic Party (but I repeat myself), have to deal with their politicians. If they are fortunate enough to rid themselves of their Mayor, who is up to his eyeballs in serious legal trouble, they may have to deal with this puffed up popinjay who is third in line to the Mayor’s Office. And she’s not exactly the model of legal behavior herself.
Ace’s post title, by the way, wins huge nostalgia points.

OH thats classic. I have to watch it again. What a total asshat. I didn't know Monica Conyers was on the Detroit city council. She's as rude and looney as her husband.
I knew she was a bit of a live wire, but I was like you on the City Council thing.
She is definitely ahead of the game just knowing that there is such a thing as childish behavior and adult behavior. She is already acting more adult than the adult in the room.
