A Tour and Blogging Update

As you’ve noticed, blogging has still been spotty the past couple of days. I’m still on tour, blogging as I have free time during the day.

Our tour’s been a bit of an adventure at times, as musical tours sometimes are. We’ve performed in some truly wonderful venues for appreciative audiences. Other times, like last night, not so much of either.

Today was a day of good and bad. We worked with a local high school chorus much of the day, adjudicating several of their soloists and a couple ensembles. I must say, the singers have a good deal of talent and seem to very much enjoy singing. It’s not always a given that a high school choral program will be full of enthusiastic singers. In this case, though, it definitely was. Working with kids who love music and who want to elevate their performances was really refreshing. I credit their music director for all the hard work she has to put in to fill her kids with such enthusiasm. And she’s a very nice lady as well. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with her.

Of course, the day would have been better had our bus not broken down at the school, forcing us to wait a couple extra hours there while the charter company hired another bus to bring us back to the hotel. But we’re back and a little weary.

In all, not a bad day. Tomorrow is an even busier day, either concerts in the afternoon and evening. So there won’t be a lot of blogging from me tomorrow. Friday is an off-day here, so prospects for lots of content looks very good.
