Babeblogging: Bergman’s Heirs

Robert McCain has exquisite taste in women.

Bergman is one of the few actresses who can completely captivate my attention. Not only was the breathtakingly beautiful, but her acting ability was very nearly nonpareil. I’d be hard pressed to think of three actresses in the past twenty years who combined strong acting chops with such arresting loveliness.

I can get as far as two: Diane Lane and Charlize Theron. I think it’s a shame that neither of them had the opportunity to work with a director like Hitchcock nor leading actors like Humphrey Bogart and Cary Grant. Lane’s been plagued with Ben Affleck, Robert Downey, Jr, and Sylvester Stallone while Theron has had to shine among such wanna-be leading men as Woody Allen, Ben Affleck (how does he get these roles??), and Tobey Maguire.

Both have been cast well against Mark Wahlberg, who is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. I think in twenty years, we movie lovers will rate him a lot higher than many other over-hyped pretty boys.
