Obama Says Beware of Evil Republicans but Seeks to Deprive Americans of their Dream Homes
Wednesday, Barak Obama said this about John McCain’s bailout proposal.
George Bush called this the ownership society, but what he really meant was ‘you’re-on-your-own’ society…John McCain apparently wants to continue this.”
That’s incredibly misleading, verging on being an outright lie. neither George Bush nor John McCain believe you should be “on your own” in the world. In fact, George Bush has increased spending on government social programs more than Bill Clinton did, or any other President since Lyndon Johnson. Of course, he’s guilty of cutting everyone’s taxes, which in the Obamessiah’s world is tantamount to thievery since all the money you earn belongs to the government and you may only keep what he and his fellow progressives believe you should have.
John McCain, on the other hand, is closing in quickly on Antichrist territory to folks like Obama. He’s gone so far as to suggest that what the government should do in response to the Great Mortgage Apocalypse is not very much at all. The thing is, he’s absolutely right. What Barak and his progressive friends prefer not to remember is that if you reward bad behavior, you get more bad behavior and less good behavior. If you bail out all these bad mortgages, you stick it to the people who were responsible and didn’t buy far more house than they could afford or who gambled on housing prices with money they shouldn’t have.
Right now there are quite a few less than affluent Americans who are waiting for housing prices to drop to a more reasonable level. Many of these folks will be first-time buyers who are on the verge of getting that vital part of the American Dream. They know that if no one interferes with the market, they’ll soon be able to buy a house from a motivated seller or from a bank thanks to a foreclosure. Barak Obama wants to stop that. He wants to punish those people who were smart with their money. He wants to deprive lots of Americans, many of whom will be black Americans, of a home.
He’s doing that because he’d rather bribe the Americans who weren’t wise by taking away the dreams of the ones who were. He hasn’t bothered to think about the wise and hopeful Americans who were responsible and played by the rules. Indeed, he’s not thinking at all. he’s just running the progressive playbook – the same playbook that’s been run at least since FDR set up the New Deal. We all know how well that worked out.
Hope and change, folks. Hope and change.
UPDATE: Yeah, I just decided, in my addled state, to attribute the New Deal to Wilson. He just wishes it had been him! Thanks to Martin in the comments for the correction.

While Wilson was plenty problematic the "New Deal" was FDR.
Crud, you're right. I got my progressives mixed up. Let me fix that.
What's so wrong with being on your own? I kind of like "being on my own".
Well, in Obama's world, "being on your own" means being abandoned and bereft of the mothering bosoms of government.
Guy needs his Mommy, don't you know. His Grandmother, not so much these days, but Big Momma Government, sure!
This is a hilarious post. How exactly are you concluding that Obama doesn't want people to own homes?
Oh. Right. You're just pulling it out of your ass.
No, HIIJM, I'm applying basic economics to the situation. When the government bails out the lenders and mortgage holders, the prices of homes will stay high. Those high prices will keep moderate and low-income people out of the housing market because they won't be able to afford houses at the higher prices.
If Obama kept his hands off, housing prices would drop and people who couldn't otherwise buy them would do so. By meddling, he's keeping people from buying homes while at the same time rewarding stupid and irresponsible behavior. It's a nice two-fer for the progressives.
Economics 101.
"By meddling, he’s keeping people from buying homes while at the same time rewarding stupid and irresponsible behavior. It’s a nice two-fer for the progressives."
Don't forget the income redistribution aspect of the Obama-nomics….so really, that makes it a 3-fer for the socialists!
