I think it's silly for anyone to say that John McCain's a conservative, Lori. Clearly, he's not.

The question we should have been asking, from the very beginning of this election cycle, was not who is conservative. I think we should have been asking who will carry the largest number of conservative values farther down the field. If we had, McCain wouldn't be the nominee right now.

Just 4 short years ago, Zell Miller said in his speech at the Republican convention that John Kerry would only use force if approved by the UN…..and the crowd boo'd loudly. Then he said "Kerry would let Paris decide when America needs defending" …..more loud boo's. Then he said "I want Bush to decide" and the crowd went nuts.

I don't think John McCain knows enough about what makes a conservative tick in order to even fake it a little. Yet he's been trying to convince conservatives that no one has been more supportive of Bush's foreign policy than he has. Which, may play well among the part-time political watchers but I have thought all along that he spent the last 8 years trying to undermine Bush's decisions out of spite.

….oh joy, he is on TV right now giving a speech on foreign policy…..ugh!
