The MSM Drops the Ball. Again.
Why am I reading this story in a British newspaper instead of an American one?
A British-Iraqi billionaire lent millions of dollars to Barack Obama’s fundraiser just weeks before an imprudent land deal that has returned to haunt the presidential contender, an investigation by The Times discloses.
The money transfer raises the question of whether funds from Nadhmi Auchi, one of Britain’s wealthiest men, helped Mr Obama buy his mock Georgian mansion in Chicago.
A company related to Mr Auchi, who has a conviction for corruption in France, registered the loan to Mr Obama’s bagman Antoin “Tony” Rezko on May 23 2005. Mr Auchi says the loan, through the Panamanian company Fintrade Services SA, was for $3.5 million.
Why is it a British newspaper that’s introducing me to Auchi, who was right there with Saddam Hussein when he killed his way to tyrant instead of, say, the New York Times? Perhaps they were too busy trying to find out if John McCain drinks goat’s blood or some other juicy bit of barely-substantial gossip.

This is just speculation, but maybe because you don't read the NYT?

I love that Saddam angle, really cute. From Wikipedia, we also learn:
"Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted him his Coat of Arms in 2004… He was also awarded the Ponitifical Order of St. Sylvester Pope and Martyr by John Paul II in 2004."

Dangerous and evil characters!
I won't bore you with the picture of Rumsfeld shaking Saddam's hand…
You'll notice how little those stories tie him to Obama when there surely seemed to be a much closer connection.
Please don't bore me. You prove your point by bringing up those pictures. They would indeed bore me because I've seen them prominently in many MSM reports over the past six years. Would that Obama received the same traetment.
"Why is it a British newspaper that’s introducing me to Auchi…"
Just doing the work Americans won't do????

In American newspaper owners' race to the bottom, investigative reporting often gets axed.
J: "the MSM"
Why use that phrase here? FoxNews, WashTimes and Rush Limbaugh failed to break the story, too. Are they part of "the MSM"? I always understood that phrase to mean "Democrat-leaning", no? Bloggers didn't break it, either. It doesn't surprise me that a British newspaper looked into the dealings of a British billionaire first.
