“Explosive”? Try “Completely Unimportant and Trivial”

| February 18, 2008 | Comments (4)

At some point, is it too much to ask for the Democrats to actually discuss some issues instead of dickering around with this silly stuff?

Howard Wolfson, the Clinton campaign’s communications director, today accused Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) of committing “plagiarism” in a speech in Milwaukee on Saturday night.

Wolfson made the explosive charge in an interview with Politico after suggesting as much in a conference call with reporters.

Explosive, huh?

Apparently, it’s “explosive” to say that the Obamessiah picked up something cool he heard his friend (and he and Deval Patrick are pretty good friends) say and used it himself. I would hope that my friends have a similar influence on my knowledge, speech, and behavior. I’d be a very poor person indeed if I didn’t take the best qualities of my friends and try to incorporate them in my own life.

You can say a lot of things about Barak, but he’s not a dirty plagiarist. This accusation looks a lot more like some helpless flailing by hapless Clintonistas than it does a newsworthy accusation.

At some point, I would hope that the MSM will get around to actually looking at Clinton’s and Obama’s policy proposals instead of reporting on fripperies or acting as the campaigns mouthpieces. Given what we saw this weekend, I’m not particularly confident.

(via TigerHawk, who says, “If this is the most potent stuff the Clintons have to throw at Obama, they are scraping the wood at the bottom of the barrel.”)

Hmmmm…I believe Clinton has actually discussed the issues at length and in detail and has called on Obama to do the same. Of course he's too scared to debate someone with experience and command of policy. She doesn't give pretty speeches but she can clean his clock in a debate. Obambi can't handle her, and he sure as hell won't handle the republicans in November. I hope democrats wake up and nominate someone with a fighting chance.

Wow, Mark. I've always viewed Obama as an opportunist, who, sensing dismay with Washington played on people's hopes without substance. Now after watching your YouTube link he's a confirmed FRAUD. Scary, indeed.
