An Islamist in the Pentagon
Have the Islamists had a mole working at the very highest level of the Department of Defense? Well, possibly. Moles usually work quietly and undercover. Hesham Islam did his work right out in the open and apparently wasn’t vetted terribly well. It might not be fair to call him a mole. It’s certainly fair to say that he’s spent his time working for our enemies and that his boss, one of the highest-ranking men at the Pentagon seemed not to care very much.
A senior U.S. official says the life story Islam presented now appears sketchy.
“His resume didn’t add up, and he knows it,” the official said. “He’s voluntarily leaving the government in March.”
At the same time, a report by terror expert Steven Emerson revealed that Islam, as special assistant to the deputy secretary of defense, has scheduled at least two meetings in the Pentagon with Syrian-tied radicals – including a leading member of the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood – in direct violation of U.S. policy.
As WND previously reported, FBI officials believe Islam is involved with the U.S. branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and is helping its front groups run “influence operations” against the U.S. government.
“He’s a Muslim brother,” an FBI official told WND. “He’s a bad actor, and he’s made other unreported nefarious contacts.”
When he says “Muslim brother”, he isn’t talking about kinship or fraternity. He’s saying that Islam is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the oldest and most vicious Islamist groups in the world. And this “Muslim brother” managed to get cashiered the foremost expert we have on the Islamists.
Islam shouldn’t be the only one fired. His boss, Deputy Director Gordon England should be out the door tomorrow. The President should do it publicly and with as many television cameras in front of him as possible. This sort of cozying up to our enemies should not be tolerated in the least.
