“Isn’t that a Duke Ellington Lick?”

I’m going to step away from politics tonight. I h ave a couple longish posts rattling around in my head and I want them to percolate for a little but longer before I write them up. Until that happens, I’ll share something really neat I fond while prowling around YouTube.

Here’s the incomparable Leonard Bernstein conducting a rehearsal of Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”. What I find fascinating about this video is that Bernstein not only shows us what a great director and musician he was but also how personable he could be. Bernstein loved working with young musicians and that love is apparent in this video.

He’s also pretty darned funny, in a corny sort of way. I like that sort of humor, though. Watch and enjoy.
