Apparently Fred Thompson did a conference call with some bloggers today and, for some odd reason, my small barely-read blog was left off of the list.
Oh…wait. Well, maybe I wouldn’t be barely-read if I picked up a couple conference calls sometime, hey?
Ed Morrissey was in on the call and has an initial report which is pretty much the same stuff we’ve heard from the campaign all along. Fred’s a rock-solid conservative. The media rolls with whatever story it gets and hasn’t been exactly fair to Fred. The primary season is just getting rolling and South Carolina is important.
Okay. That’s all good stuff, but it’s also something we’ve all known since Iowa. How about something we don’t know? I’m a Fred guy and I make no secret of it. But I do wish very much that he’d open up the gates a little and let us here on the outside see what’s going on in the campaign. The occasional video from the campaign bus isn’t a help. How about a few videos of Fred smiling and enjoying himself? The snowball exchange a couple weeks was great because it shows that Fred isn’t what the media’s been saying he is. Surely more stuff like that be made available. If you’re going to run an unconventional campaign, then be unconventional. Get the stuff out more than once a week. Use the new media to the hilt. Grab up John Hawkins and get another video like this one out on YouTube. Wrap the brilliant conservative message in Fred’s honest and no-bull wayand season it with some humor then make sure it gets to where people can get it. What do you have to lose?
Oh, and how about an invite next time, guys?

My FredHead friend referred me to this site, http://www.fittobepres.com, and it looks like we need to show some more support for Fred over there. As of right now, McCain is in the lead with the most ratings, but Fred is catching up. You’re one of the first few bloggers I’ve told this about, so now you’ve got some information to tell the “bloggers people read.”
I feel ya.
I am not that happy with the effort from several in Fred’s campaign.
When you listen to Fred speak, you hear his conviction and drive. When you hear someone from his campaign speak, you hear a lot of going through the motions.
10 of us makes a CQ, I bet. Too bad the campaign folks are not seeing it that way.
