Reuters Spins for a Dead Traitor

| January 9, 2008 | Comments (0)

Philip Agee was a traitor who turned vital intelligence information over to the Soviet Union (which foolishly turned it down) and exposed dozens, if not hundreds, of covert agents to mortal danger. He fled the United States to Cuba where he could toady for Fidel Castro and ultimately died thanks to Cuba’s much-ballyhooed health care system.

Reuters, never missing an opportunity to bone up a story, calls Agee a “CIA whistle-blower”.

It’s interesting that the Scooter Libby investigation began to investigate an alleged violation of a law that was passed because of Agee’s treasonous revelations. I didn’t recall Reuters calling the person “outed” Valerie Plame a “whistle-blower”. Then again, I don’t recall Reuters being particularly objective when it comes to the United States either.
