Wait…what? Please tell me this is some sort of sick joke.
The Pentagon has fired its top guy on Islamists and Sharia because he allegedly offended a Muslim aide to the Deputy Defense Secretary. That, folks, is intolerable, if it’s true.
Coughlin brought to England’s (that’s the DDS) attention that one of the groups he brought to the Penatagon to cuddle and coo over fronts for one of the most violent and oldest Islamist groups in the world. He didn’t write anything controversial unless you’re an Islamist or a Muslim bigot. He used public court documents and pointed out to his boss that he had invited one of the enemies most insidious front groups into the very heart of our war effort.
There’s no indication that Coughlin was rude or overstepped his authority. There’s no report that he broke any rules or violated any laws. He disagreed with his boss’ policy of cuddling up with Islamist sympathizers.
And the Islamist sympathizer inside the Pentagon got him fired.

Again, if this story is true, then we have a real problem. It would truly turn me into a raving Lewis Black if it turns out that we fired the best guy we have in the Pentagon on the evil bastards who are beheading, bombing, and raping their way across vast swaths of the world because some Muslim bigot got his nose out of joint over a memo.
Secretary of Defense Gates needs to fix this travesty right away. England and his Muslim Grima Wormtongue need to be canned quicker than you can say “dhimmi”. Coughlin not only must get his job back but should also get a formal and very public apology from our SecDef. It’s high time we demonstrated that we’re serious about fighting back the barbarism and bloodlust of the Islamists in every form it takes.
Unless, of course, we’ve decided to surrender. I’m not ruling out the possibility.
Point to Ponder: Which Presidential candidate would be dealing with this story the very second he heard about it? I’ll bet you can’t think of more than two and you can be darned sure that one of them would be Fred Thompson. Please consider that when you watch the debates tomorrow evening.

The action followed a report in this space last week revealing opposition to his work for the military by pro-Muslim officials within the office of Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England.

He had run afoul of a key aide to Mr. England, Hasham Islam, who confronted Mr. Coughlin during a meeting several weeks ago when Mr. Islam sought to have Mr. Coughlin soften his views on Islamist extremism.Mr. Coughlin was accused directly by Mr. Islam of being a Christian zealot or extremist “with a pen,” according to defense officials. Mr. Coughlin appears to have become one of the first casualties in the war of ideas with Islamism.

Mr. Coughlin wrote a memorandum several months ago based on documents made public in a federal trial in Dallas that revealed a covert plan by the Muslim Brotherhood, an Egyptian-origin Islamist extremist group, to subvert the United States using front groups. Members of one of the identified front groups, the Islamic Society of North America, has been hosted by Mr. England at the Pentagon.
