Bilal Hussein is a photographer who works for the AP. He had a habit of getting some very timely photographs of terrorist attacks in Iraq, including onw that on a Pulitzer Prize. His photographs were so timely in fact that the blogosphere got a bit suspicious. So did the military, which arrested Hussein on suspicion of being one of the terrorists.

Scott Horton is a journalist who writes for Harper’s magazine. He recently wrote at least one article on the Hussein arrest that basically libelled the heck out of our military. What Horton forgot to mention is that he actually worked on Hussein’s defense team. Oopsie. I guess he just kid of forgot that little detail. It’s kind of important, though, don’t you think?

Quite a few statements Horton attributes to his unnamed Pentagon source turn out to be details he got, or could have gotten, as a defense attorney on the case. It’s a pretty slimy move for a guy who has no problem at all sliming our soldiers.
