I&#039;m reminded of the old urban legend of Lyndon Johnson spreading obscene rumors about one of his opponents in the Texas gubernatorial race (or whatever it was); his campaign manager protested that the public would never believe the accusations, and LBJ responded: &quot;Not unless we can make the son of a bitch DENY it.&quot; </description>
