The Fred Thompson Blogburst

| December 27, 2007 | Comments (4)

thompson.jpgRick Moran contacted me a few days ago and asked me to participate in a blogburst to raise a few bucks for Fred Thompson’s campaign. I think it’s a fine idea and I’m participating. I’ve spent a couple months taking a very close look at the other candidates and Thompson is the person I believe should be in the White House in January, 2009. I believe this not only in my gut but in my head as well. His plans for the issues vital to each of us are detailed and make good sense. He believes the best thing the Federal government can do is to get the heck out of your hair. He wants to keep taking the fight to the Islamists instead of sitting back and reacting to their attacks on us. He believes that the best days of America are ahead of us and that the only way we’ll see them is if we all pull together, as proud Americans, and solve the problems in front of us. These are more than talking points he’s adopted to beg a few votes from the rubes. They’re more than convenient campaign slogans he grabbed a few months ago. These are principles he’s held honestly and seriously for most of his life. That means a great deal to me, and I think that if you gave it some thought, it’s be important to you too.

I know that he’s not the ball of fire that many of us want to see. He’s measured and deliberate. He doesn’t give knee-jerk reactions before he thinks. He doesn’t see the sense in whoring himself out to every reporter with a television camera. But that doesn’t mean that he’s not been working very hard in Iowa in the past month. Indeed, he has.

Fred08 - Contribute NowI’d like to see him come out of the midwest with a solid bit of momentum and see what he can do against the well-polished, well-financed political machines of his opponents. That’s only going to happen if he gets enough money to get another commercial or two on the air. Thus, the blogburst. So, if you have a few bucks, hit the Fred ’08 graphic and donate, please.

His newest commercial is after the jump. I think you’ll like it.

  1. FRED THOMPSON is the best person to lead this country. He is a true conservative and has been his entire life. All one has to do is check his record to see this.

I am saddened by so many that say they do not support Fred Thompson only because they think he "doesn't want the job bad enough" or that he cannot win.

As Conservatives we are supposed to be the party that votes based on a person's Conservative record…not based on polls or a person's thirst for power. That's what Clinton supporters do.
