Bush Is Bursting Out All Over!

george-bush-picture.jpgI’m a bit confused this morning. For six years, at least, I’ve been told that thanks to the arrogance of our unilateral First Buckaroo, we are increasingly unpopular around the world. I’m told that George McMonkeyBurton’s foreign policy has been rejected by the clearer-thinking international community and that we’re on the “wrong course”. Why I even hear that a Republican candidate for President said we’ve had a “bunker mentality”.

So if that’s all true, then why have countries who can freely elect their own leader been electing leaders who are decidedly pro-American or who see diplomacy in the same way as our President?

Look at what’s happened in the past couple of years. France outsted the bribe-loving Chirac in favor of Sarkozy. Canada dumped Paul Martin for Stephen Harper. Germany punted Schroeder for Merkle. Britain’s Gordon Brown is pro-American. Same for Australia’s Kevin Rudd. While neither Brown nor Rudd are as in tune with Bush’s foreign policy in the way that Tony Blair and John Howard were, they’re certainly staunch and courageous allies in our war against the Islamists (indeed, their elections hinged on economic matters mostly).

Now, South Korea has elected a leader whose policy towards their neighbors to the north reads much more like George Bush’s than it does any policy from a Democrat or the UN. What’s more, he wants to build a closer relationship with America.

So what’s been all this talk about how we’re increasingly isolated in the world? Sounds like a pack of lies cooked up by the folks who don’t much like the President and foisted on us by an MSM eager to tear Bush down. But what do I know. I’m just a blogger who doesn’t have layers and layers of editors and fact-checkers to make sure all my stuff is accurate.
