Welcome to Nerdvana, Movie Fans…

Oh. Myyyyyyyy. Let’s just kick the number of movies I’m sure I’ll be seeing next year up to two.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Batman Begins. I thought it was too cluttered and had too much Katie Holmes in it. It wasn’t a bad movie, but it seemed more a starting point than an actual movie itself (and I thought The Scarecrow made a better villain than Ras al-Ghul, mostly because the movie didn’t give the al-Ghul character time to really breathe and develop). But the coming Batman movie…well…it simply looks scrumptious. You’ll also probably never hear me say this again either: Heath Ledger performance, as least what I’ve seen of it, makes me want to see this movie. I know.

There is a Gyllenhaal, so be warned. At least it’s the cute one and, with luck, they’ll keep her from saying anything amazingly dumb. Gary Oldman is thankfully back, which more than makes up for the Gyllenhaal sighting. He’s a fantastic Jim Gordon and gives the movie a huge dose of human heft. I’m also interested in seeing if they give Michael Caine a bit more screentime. I find that I like his Alfred. It reminds me a lot of the Alfred of the more recent cartoons.

So…trailer after the jump. Jump!

The high-def version is right here, for all you frame-by-frame maniacs.
