Don’t Monkey with Fred!

Now there’s the Fred Thompson I’ve been wanting to see since he lit himself a big ol’ Cohiba, turned to face the camera, and reduced Michael Moore to a very large pile of tyrant-snuggling ash.

No monkey business indeed.

It’s a shame we haven’t seen more of this for the past month. Fred Thompson really does have the ideas and personality to be a top-notch Presidential candidate. As far as policy proposals go, he’s head and shoulders above any candidate on either side. His temperament strikes me as nearly perfect for the job. I just wish I felt like he was more eager to have the job. Right now, I feel as if any vote I’d cast for him would be pushing him toward a job he doesn’t entirely want to do. I can’t quite shake that and, until he can prove to me that he wants the gig, I can’t get fully behind him.
