CIA Stupidity and the Islamist Playbook
WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 — The first of the so-called high-value Guantánamo detainees to have seen a lawyer claims he was subjected to “state-sanctioned torture” while in secret C.I.A. prisons, and he has asked for a court order barring the government from destroying evidence of his treatment.
The request, in a filing by his lawyers, was made on Nov. 29, before officials from the Central Intelligence Agency acknowledged that the agency had destroyed videotapes of interrogations of two operatives of Al Qaeda that current and former officials said included the use of harsh techniques.
It’s an amazing country in which we live where we will 1) allow a suspected terrorist operating outside the bounds of the Geneva Conventions a civil lawyer, 2) allow someone who is not a U.S. citizen to act in our courts, and 3) allow such a case knowing that it follows exactly the instructions we know that al-Qaeda has given its operatives.
Nice move by the New York Times, too. They could have run this story today, given that the Islamist’s lawyer released the information on Friday. Then again, a nice, fresh story is likely to take some folks unawares on the Sunday talk shows. Anything to get talked about, I suppose. One wonders if the Islamist’s offenses, not mentioned in any detail in the article, will get as much play as his allegations.
One might also wonder if pigs will be flying around the Beltway, for all that.
What fools must work at the CIA these days to hand this Islamist such an amazing opportunity to damage our ability to wage war against his “brothers”. Heads should roll tomorrow, if not sooner.

Jimmie, it was the President's and the CIA's duty to protect us, not al Qaeda operatives. They had to use any means necessary to get infomation about attacks on US citizens. Period. You are absolutely, %100 correct.
Heads will roll. Not of those at the CIA, but rather of the soulless subhuman vermin like yourself.
Seriously, one of these day the torture-porn crowd who jerk their meats at the thought of naked arab men in piles getting waterboarded will be "fair game" for the rest of us.
