Really, Matt. Maha is basically saying that the women were in danger because of George Bush, to the point where they couldn't even say, "I'm sorry, but I'm here to play cards, not talk politics".

How about the general guideline that you don't give the finger to more than half your country when you're in another country that tends to throw its free speakers into prisons? Is that such a terrible thing to do?

Perhaps, if you were inclined to deliver a political message, how about delivering one that might give some attention to the Chinese dissidents still languishing in China's prisons instead of indulging your own petty selfish ego?

If not China then where? Are you saying that such statements can only be made in countries with a better human rights record?

And in listing such countries, does America's ranking get lowered by its connection to countries who torture people? Like, if we shipped the dude there, we don't get a higher rating than them, right? So it's probably a pretty long list.

I just hope these lady bridge players don't give the Chinese people any ideas that protesting the government is OK, especially with our economy so dependent on the good graces of the Chinese government now.
