The Sundries Shack has been named a finalist in this year’s 2007 Weblog Awards! As I didn’t really lobby for a nomination, I’m quite pleasantly surprised and I thank the person who put my name forward.
This year I’m running in the“Best of the Top 1001-1750 Blogs” category against some pretty stiff competition. Obsidian Wings and Bookworm Room are both very good blogs and Newshoggers is a very popular site. So, already I’m kind of behind the 8-Ball here.
Nevertheless, I’m asking for your help. Voting couldn’t be easier this year. Just click the button next to my blog’s name and you’re done. You can only vote once every 24 hours, which makes things easy-peasy for you. I’ll keep a link to this post visible on the front page so long as necessary. The polls are open until November 8.
This year, I hope to make a good showing so please take a moment and vote for me. I may not win, but I’d surely like not to be the tail end of the back.
UPDATE: Hmm…maybe I can win this thing. Right now (early Sunday Morning) I’m in 5th place, only 142 votes out of the lead. This isn’t a busy category, so a click a day from a few folks who come by and visit could jump me right up there.

Thank you so much for the nice post you left at my blog. I haven’t had a chance yet to check out the other blogs in our category, but I do know about you, and right away realized I was up against some stiff competition.
Of course, it wouldn’t be much fun if it were a walkaway, so I guess we’re all lucky that we’re up against quality blogs in our category. If I don’t win, at least I’ll have the real consolation of knowing I lost to someone good!
You flatter me, Ms. Bookworm! Already you’re pummeling me like a rented mule. I only hope to get within half of your ultimate total.
I do hate falling into the ecosystem categories, though. I have more “fly by night” links than I do semi-regular readers which translates into not very many votes at all in stuff like this.
