Saudi King Pegs the Irony Meter

I do not think that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has even a nanometer of room to criticize anyone about terrorism.

Abdullah told the BBC that Britain was not doing enough in the war on terror. He made the comments hours before arriving in London for a state visit.

“I believe that most countries are not taking this issue too seriously, including, unfortunately, Great Britain,” he said through a translator. “We have sent information to Great Britain before the terrorist attacks in Britain, but unfortunately no action was taken and it may have been able to avert the tragedy.”

You know what would have been able to avert the tragedy even better? If Saudi Arabia stopped funding Islamist madrassas in dozens of other countries. There is no country – not a single one – that has done more to radicalize Islam and contribute to the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people than Saudi Arabia. Much of that radicalization has happened under the direct supervision of King Abdullah.

Who funds radical madrassahs from the Washington suburbs to Karachi to Somalia to Hamburg and Londonistan? Who supplied 15 of the 19 terrorists on 9-11? Who gave us Osama bin Laden, for that matter?

How about turning off the Saudi petrodollar spigot that gushes funds to terrorists all over the globe, King?

The time is coming when significant portions of the world will grow very tired of the oil-wealthy oppressors and their head-chopping disciples. When that day comes, King Abdullah will not be able to buy his way out of the fury that will fall upon him. He has a choice right now to reverse his course before the next 9/11 happens and the fury of a righteously indignant people falls on his head.

He’d be much better off seeing to his own nation and the butchers it produces every day than lecturing those who have thus far stayed their hand and preserved him from destruction.
