Another Natural Disaster, Another FEMA Beclowning
Is there any chance – any chance at all – that we can just close up shop on FEMA? I can’t, for the life of me, imagine what they do that’s not being done better and more quickly than local and state emergency management agencies, the American Red Cross, and a host of other private relief organizations.
Perhaps one of the enduring unintentional legacies of the Bush Administration is that folks will see just how much cash we pour into this bumbling circus and pull the plug on it, or at least scale it way back so that it’s little more than a phone bank and resource database.
Well, we can dream, can’t we?
