Islamo-Fascist Awareness Week and the Islamist-Adoring Left
This week is Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week and some pretty darned smart folks will be speaking at colleges around the country trying mightily to remind people (or, considering most college campuses, telling some people for the very first time) of the nature and public statements and actions of the Islamists whose sole goal is to kill or conquer the non-Muslim world.
This, as you might expect, is not a popular venture in some quarters. Mad Mahmoud and the Saudi Government are already launching their defense of Islamism, encouraging students everywhere to treat these speakers far worse than Mad Mahmoud was when he slimed his way to Columbia University not very long ago. Exactly on cue, the student groups and other brainless wonders are set to brawk away. One big bullet in their allegedly intellectual bandolier is that letting these folks speak on college campuses stifles dissent and quashes academic freedom. Jeff Goldstein handles that bit of cowardice couched as noble patriotism thusly:

…critical thinking is elevating fear of giving offense over willingness to speak frankly about the nature of the enemy you face.
God forbid that one of these leftists would actually apply critical thinking to their own thought processes. The fact that they’d honor an avowed anti-Semite and a proven liar and academic fraud as literal poster boys of academic freedom in the defense of those who kill women for walking down the street unescorted or crush gay people by tipping walls over onto them is simply mind-boggling. I suspect that if an an ounce of critical thinking ever entered just brain in that whole nit witted crowd, the rip in space-time would be something that would require Al Gore and his Vice Presidential Action Rangers to fix.
The Islamists are a very real and very visible danger to every single one of us. Less noticeable, but no less dangerous, are their addlepated enablers here in America.

Would you like to stomp your feet and bang your fists on the ground, too? You may not like Horowitz's arguments, but you can not reasonably say that they aren't well-considered. Using the "stupid" card instead of taking on his points is pretty immature.
“Pretty darned smart people”? Ann Coulter? David Horowitz? I guess they are smart enough to make money through demagoguery, but their views are hardly well-informed. David Horowitz proves an interesting rule: when you are either too drunk (Christopher Hitchens) or too insane to be acceptable on the far left fringe, you can always go conservative. It’s kind of like when you have warrants in 49 states, there’s always Montana.
