Rush Does Good. Harry Reid Stoops to A New Low.

This is simply an amazing thing, made even more amazing by a grossly slandered man of the right and a pure weasel on the left.
Rush Limbaugh was pilloried not very long ago for something he, quite simply, did not say. Things got so bad that the Democratic leader of the US Senate, Harry Reid, not only repeated the slander from the floor of the Senate but got 40 other Democratic Senators to sign a letter to the president of the company that carries Rush’s broadcasts asking him to punish Limbaugh for his allegedly “unpatriotic” remarks.
Ignorance of what Rush said aside, it was unconscionable for any US Senator to lend the weight of their office behind the censure of a private citizen exercising his First Amendment right of free speech or to attempt to bully the president of a private company who was not engaging in any activity over which the US Senate has any authority.
Limbaugh decided on a pretty neat course of action. He obtained the original letter, signed by such luminaries of the left as Ted Kennedy, Barak Obama, and Hillary Clinton and put it up for bid on eBay. The proceed of that auction would go to a charity that took care of he children of soldiers and police officers killed or wounded in the line of duty. The auction ended this afternoon with a final bid of over 2 million dollars.
Rush didn’t stop there, though. As the auction began, he announced that he would match the winning bid so that the charity would get double the amount of money. That means that Rush is on the hook, gladly and proudly I might add, for 2 million dollars himself.
That’s a heck of a story and it flies in the face of the tales being told about Rush by Harry Reid and the other leftist nincompoops who decided to play their silly political games yet again with our soldiers.

Unfortunately, that’s not the end of the story. Today, just before the bidding ended, Reid took to the Senate floor once more. He praised Rush’s efforts with all the magnanimity of a Latin American tyrant who praises his downtrodden people for getting the banana crop in early and then took partial credit for the whole idea and the millions of dollars the charity will receive. Watch Reid’s speech (or read it if you prefer) and notice how many times he said “we”, as if he had anything to do with the auction beyond being the leftist suck-up who overstepped his authority and decided that a little pimp-handing would be the appropriate way to deal with an uppity radio talk show host.
Notice, also, how many times he doesn’t say that he’s going to help contribute to the charity in any way. We know that Reid is pretty well off, if for no other reason than he’s used his position to give out earmarks that made him more than a few bucks. Surely he could take some of that corrupt cash and give it to a cause he just priased to the Heavens, couldn’t he?
Of course he won’t, because he is a prototypical Democratic Senator – all talk and absolutely no action. He says he respects the troops and he does, but only so far as he can ride them to another term as Senator. What a contemptible little gnome.

This was absolutely the most fucking brilliant thing Rush has ever done. My God he made those dems look small and Reid just made himself and the rest of them look even smaller with his idiot speech today.
