At Least We Know What His Integrity’s Worth, So That’s Something

Well, it only took his willingness to misquote Rush Limbaugh overcoming his willingness to surrender to the Islamists, but it seems that Harry Reid has finally climbed on board the Freedom Train.

Although Americans of goodwill debate the merits of this war, we can all agree that those who serve with such great courage deserve our deepest respect and gratitude. That is why Rush Limbaugh’s recent characterization of troops who oppose the war as “phony soldiers” is such an outrage.

Our troops are fighting and dying to bring to others the freedoms that many take for granted. It is unconscionable that Mr. Limbaugh would criticize them for exercising the fundamentally American right to free speech. Mr. Limbaugh has made outrageous remarks before, but this affront to our soldiers is beyond the pale. (emphasis mine)

You know what’s really unconscionable? It’s unconscionable that we have a Senate Majority Leader who can be bought so easily to say such ridiculous things on so frequent a basis. I’m tempted to look carefully for a slot in his back where the hand of the person who’s making his lips move would go.

It’s also a crying shame that it’s only the bloggers who have any interest in reporting how often Reid seems to throw you and me under the Islamist bus if it’ll mean he can pick up another couple points in the latest poll.

Don’t expect Reid’s come-to-Bush moment to last, though. Today’s a different day and I’m sure his moneyed masters have already faxed him today’s script.

UPDATE: Well, this post definitely needed a title. Fixed.

  1. Jewells says:

Unfortunately he hasn’t picked up any points at all. The congress approval rating is the lowest it’s been in years. They are just too stupid to figure out that playing to the moonbat far left is killing them. They truly are delusional.

  2. Jimmie says:

They may not be entirely delusional, Jewells. There’s at leat the chance that some of them are simply really corrupt!

  3. Jewells says:

Oh well, that goes without saying!!

  4. Jimmie says:

What I don’t quite get is why we mostly seem to accept such behavior as the price of doing business in a democracy. It doesn’t have to be that way.

  5. Jewells says:

I agree. I do not get the republicans silence on this. They have all lost thier spine.
