Mad Mahmoud Makes Landfall

Is the New York Port Authority actually clearing the area so that Mad Mahmoud can visit the World Trade Center site? Allah says it’s very possible, via Pajamas Media. I, like him, hope there’s a lot more to this story than what’s been reported, else the Port Authority has a lot of explaining to do.

Meanwhile, Mad Mahmoud continues his whirlwind tour of the United States by addressing the National Press Club. Apparently, the leading whack-job propagandist for an apocalyptic death-cult has something useful to say to our national media. I wonder what piercing questions they’ll ask him. Right Voices is live-blogging the love-in and, thus far he doesn’t appear to be getting any real hardball questions. Early returns show the national press corps is throwing him batting practice.

Really, does anyone expect anything but a smile and a shrug to a question like “Why are your visits to the World Trade Center site and Columbia University so controversial”?

UPDATE: And indeed, the questions didn’t exactly pin Mad Mahmoud to the wall, considering that he got off a couple good riffs on peace, love, joy, happiness, butterflies, and destroying Israel.
