“Oh Barry. You Came and You Whined On the TV…”
How do you revive a dead career? Well, you can work hard, write good music, tour your rear-end off, and earn yourself a new audience. Or, if you’re Barry Manilow, you can do the same thing that’s brought astounding career success to such entertainment nobility as Rosie O’Donnell and Joy Behar and diss a Republican on The View.
I’m sure Manilow will gain a few fans among the Truthers and Code Pink harridans, right up to the point where they actually listen to his music (well, except for “Copacabana”, which is a catchy little tune and completely okay for a real man to listen and maybe dance a little bit to). I think that John Podhoretz hit the nail right on the head on this whole stupid story.
f I were Elisabeth Hasselbeck, I would refuse to sit next to Barry Manilow. After all, “I Write the Songs” has officially been categorized as a war crime by the Fourth Geneva Convention. Here at home, even Wayne LaPierre supports legislation to declare “Mandy” an assault weapon deserving of a complete ban. This is not to say that Manilow hasn’t been of service to his country, albeit inadvertently. Unconfirmed reports claim that Khalid Sheikh Muhammad would not break, even with a bullet in his groin, until they played 15 seconds of “I Can’t Smile Without You,” whereupon he cried like a little girl.

Barry Manilow is pathetic if he refused to go on "The View"because of Elizabith's republican stance.
I also disagree with E's pro war views….. but she is entitled to express her opinions in a free society, and free speech is the cornerstone of American democracy. Barry's intolerance of her right to express her opinions is plainly undemocratic on his part – so how ironic is that?
