Report? Who Needs A Report?

Worried about how much you head might hurt from all the thinking General Petraeus’ report on Iraq might require? No worries! Just call him General Betray-Us and go happily on your thought-free way.

Better yet, spin, spin, spin your way to victory. Or defeat. Depending on whose side you’re actually on. Just remember not to sound too much like the Bearded Muppet!

Nevertheless, real progress is happening in Iraq where the people live. Those of us who still believe that Iraq need not be a foreverland of barbarism and bloodshed see a time when Iraq is a real country instead of an Islamist playground or a tyrant’s possession. To us, it’s vital that it become the former and neither of the latter. To others…well…their eyes are on another prize.

UPDATE: So, it is al-Qaeda in Iraq or isn’t it? The soldiers sure as heck seem to think it is, on account of the bad guys calling themselves al-Qaeda all the time.
