Just Another Soldier Smear (Updated: It’s Working!)

The fix is in on the coming Iraq progress report as far as the Democrats are concerned. Anything General Petraeus says that doesn’t involve abject failure is going to be seen as a flat-out lie and the Dems have no problem at all smearing that honorable soldier as they’ve smeared hundreds of thousands of other honorable soldiers over the past few years.

They’d be a lot more credible about the report, though, if they knew what the heck they were talking about.

Just don’t you dare question their patriotism. They’ll get all red-faced and whiny.

However, just 39% believe the report will honestly and accurately reflect the General’s true assessment of the situation in Iraq. Thirty-five percent (35%) say it will not while 26% are not sure.

By a 58% to 22% margin, Republicans expect the report to honestly reflect the views of Petraeus. Just 25% of Democrats share that assessment while 43% say the report will not accurately reflect what Petraeus thinks. Unaffiliateds are evenly divided.

It is a said day when so many Americans have been conned into thinking that General Petraeus would come before the President and Congress and lie right to their faces. It’s shameful to know that the Democrats have played their silly little political game to the point where Americans assume that he will just lie even though they have absolutely no evidence to believe that he will.

It is high time that we reminded Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their merry band of not-so-useful idiots that they are playing for more than who get to control Congress for the next couprl years. We’re dealing with not only the hard-earned reputations of hundreds of thousands of our family members, friends, and co workers but their lives and the lives of countless others around the world. They need to stop playing like they’re in high school running for Prom Queen and grow the heck up.
