If you want to see the future of government health care in the US, look no farther than these three stories from the past two weeks.

1) A couple from Calgary gave birth to rare identical quadruplets in Great Falls, Montana because there was not a single hospital bed available for her in her own city and only three beds available in all of Canada. At least five other women have had to go to the same hospital in the US just this year for the same reason.

2) John Edwards announced yesterday that, if his health care program goes through, everyone in the US will be subject to mandatory preventative doctors’ visits. Says he, “…you can’t choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years”. So much for The Right to Choose.

3) A pregnant woman is England is going to have her baby taken away from her on the say-so of a government doctor she has never met. The woman has but one appeal and, if she loses, she will be forbidden from ever discussing the case on pains of being throw into prison.

Remember. They’re from the government and they’re here to help.
