Last night, the folks who believe that the government was behind 9/11 took a George Foreman-sized crotch-punch from the History Channel. Their documentary 9/11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction was a complete obliteration of all the fictions the “truthers” shout from their crazy perch on the internet. Watching real experts demolish the truthers’ pet conspiracies was like watching a row of oyster crackers in front of a sandblaster. I feel a little ashamed that a documentary like that was even necessary, though. It’s impossible for me to fathom how morally and intellectually vacant one would have to be in order to seriously believe that our President tried to kill upwards of ten thousand innocent Americans just to put a few petrobucks in his pocket. I’m glad that the History Channel and Popular Mechanics have seen fit to debunk the nonsense with authority.
Right Wing Nut House reviewed the documentary so well that I really don’t have anything else to add except to say that it’s re-airing on Saturday at 8 PM Eastern and again at midnight.
TiVO it, burn it onto a DVD and keep it handy.
