Yes….and?

Man….what?

SALT LAKE CITY — While Mitt Romney condemns polygamy and its prior practice by his Mormon church, the Republican presidential candidate’s great-grandfather had five wives and at least one of his great-great grandfathers had 12.

Polygamy was not just a historical footnote, but a prominent element in the family tree of the former Massachusetts governor now seeking to become the first Mormon president.

Uh huh. And that’s relevant to Mitt Romney today in what way?

It’s not relevant, except as a sly little slander to get yet another religion dig in on him. The piece adds no substance at all. It’s just a thinly-velied bit of character assassination.

You know, I thought we got past this sort of thing when the press was casting their aspersions on John Kennedy for being Catholic. Apparently, the religious hit piece is still alive and well and getting ink at the Washington Post.
