The AP: Still Clinging to the Lie

It seems that the Associated Press is still lying through their teeth about their Iraqi source Jamil Hussein and their coverage of a “massacre” in Hurriyah.

And when I say “lying”, I don’t mean it in the sense of “Bush lied”. I mean, they know the truth and prefer to tell us another story that’s entirely different from the truth. You know, an actual lie.

The problem for them is that, if they give this story up, they’re going to have to give up a couple dozen or so other stories where this supposed “source” gave them direct evidence of sectarian horrors. To do that would means they’d have to pull back, at least a little, on the whole “Iraq is burning” storyline which isn’t quite as true as it’s made out to be (or so our soldiers who are actually in Iraq say).
