Hey, Anyone Know Where We Put That Tape?
In 1969, we sent men to the moon, walked on its surface, and captured pretty crisp and clear video footage of the whole thing. That video is much clearer that what we saw on television because the televised imaged had to be transmitted from the Moon to Australia and California, reformatted and transmitted to Houston then sent to the broadcast outlets. It’s a piece of history that can never be replaced and, given NASA’s current project to travel to the moon once more, a very valuable source of data.
Unfortunately, NASA has lost all that video. They have no idea where any of it could be.
And they want to send missions back to the moon. I wonder if they remember where they left that.
