And the Iranian people were dancing in the streets and shouting "death to America" in celebration of the defeat of the much-despised Carter. Yet nobody in America ever said that the American electorate was wrong in giving the Ayatolla something to cheer about. But you weren't blogging then, of course. Would you have applied the same logic to Reagan's victory and condemned the American people for having elected him? I doubt it. You probably would have been cheering right along with the Iranians in celebration of Carter's defeat. And you would have rightly believed that the American electorate should not base their votes on what the Ayatollah might say about it.
By the way, the idea that there democrats are responsible for the Cambodian genocide is absurd, I just don't have time to go into it now. If you want to know the truth about Cambodia, travel there and talk to those who suffered under the Khmer Rouge. They will tell you a very different story.

In 1980, when Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter, there was very similar gloating from Khamenei' predecessor, Ayatollah Khomeini.
