A Must-Read. Please.
I’d like all of you who read The Shack to do me one favor between now and whenever you vote tomorrow. It’s not a big favor at all and won’t take a great amount of your time – perhaps 30 minutes if you’re slow and deliberate.
I want you to read this essay written by Orson Scott Card. I recommend it to you as one the most succinct analysis of the terrorist threat, where it comes from, where it is strong, and where it is very, very weak. More, Card gives a cogent and serious defense of what we have been doing thus far with Republicans at the helm and why they should remain there.
For my part, I agree wholeheartedly with him but even if I didn’t, his essay would be worth my time. I dare say that Card and I would part company on many other issues. I’m glad, though, to find that the Democratic Party still contains erudite and, let me use the word again, serious people among its members.
So please, spend a little time today with this essay. It may be the most important thing you’ll read before you go to vote tomorrow.
