The DA Interviewed the Victim, Just Not About The Actual Crime.

You might think that if you were a District Attorney who was prosecuting a rape care that had drawn national attention and had you making definitive statements about the case in the international media you would have a pretty good handle on the facts of the case.

Heck, you might even be so thoroughly involved in the case that you’ve interviewed the victim several times.

If you thought that, you’re obviously not fit to be a DA in North Carolina.

The district attorney prosecuting three Duke lacrosse players accused of raping a woman at a team party said during a court hearing Friday that he still hasn’t interviewed the accuser about the facts of the case.
“I’ve had conversations with (the accuser) about how she’s doing. I’ve had conversations with (the accuser) about her seeing her kids,” Mike Nifong said. “I haven’t talked with her about the facts of that night. … We’re not at that stage yet.”

Wait. What???

Remember that the indictments came down in May. That means that not only did Nifong not go over the facts of the case with the victim before the indictment but he hasn’t done so in the past 4 months or so either.

In the meantime, his office has been leaking like a sieve, his case seems to my casual observation to be laughable, and the reputations of these men accused of the crime have been damaged severely, and perhaps bayond repair.

Mike Nifong appears to be criminally incompetent and I sincerely hope that he is held responsible for his behavior.
