The Left’s Moral Mafia
It appears that the spirit of Cotton Mather is alive and has adapted itself pretty well to the 21st Century. David Corn, that spirit’s newest inhabitant, puts on the mantle of self-righteousness and let us know that he and plenty of others have no problem whatsoever with forcing others to adhere to their own moral code.
David Corn and his mafia of morality ought to hide their hypocritical heads in shame and let people live the lives they’ve chosen to live within the laws that our democratic society have chosen for all of us citizens. Instead, Corn and his congregation of ideological puritans proudly brandish their list and threaten those on it, all the while hiding behind smiles of false tolerance and feigned compassion.
Sure, it ain’t burning at the stake, but that’s only because it’s so passe. Nowadays the preferred method worldwide to kill gay people is to topple walls on them. Here in the USA, we just threaten to kill their reputations and their careers. We should be proud.
UPDATE: I say Cotton Mather; John Podhoretz says Joseph McCarthy and he has the side-by-side quotes to make a good case.
