Frankenstein!

This is, bar none, the best rock instrumental song ever written. There can be no question about this, no dispute.

And since it’s a nine-minute live performance, you get some bonus stuff right in the middle, like a segue into some Mission Impossible goodness, a fantastic guitar solo, and Edgar on key-tar, standup keyboard, and saxophone (with just a dash of vocals thrown in). One warning, the video cuts the song off early, perhaps a minute before the end should happen, which is a drag.

Despite that, if you are a musician, this video is your tonic tonight.

UPDATE: Heck, folks. Put on the headphones, ignore the white outfit that guitarist is wearing, and crank it all the way up! Edgar on key-tar, saxophone, drums, and electronic gizmofication. THAT, is a musician.

Excellent! Too bad about the cutoff. Best instrumental ever? That's hard to say, I think it's a matter of taste. I'm partial to Frank Zappa's "Son of Mr. Green Genes" (from Hot Rats). But "Frankenstein" is definately one of the best.
