RIP – Kirby Puckett
I know that most of you who aren’t baseball fans or who don’t live in Minnesota will recognize the name, but let me tell you. Kirby Puckett was one of hte finest baseball players who ever lived. He could do it all: hit for power, hit for average, drive in runners, get on base, and play the field. He was the complete package and a large reason the Minnesota Twins were a dominant team through the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Not only was he a great player, he was a great role-model. He worked hard, never got into the “I’m a star” crap that plagues most major sports nowadays. He got along well with reporters and fans and loved the city that loved him.
I like what Feisty had to say:
From what I remember, all those guys just seemed like good guys, ya know? Not busting stuff up, not snortin’ coke…nothing. Just nice guys.
Yeah, that’s what I thought too. Nice guys.
You don’t find many of them in sports these days.
Rest well Kirby. As long as there are warm summer evenings and the crack of the bat, you’ll be remembered.

That’s Kirby Puckett as we’d like to remember him, rounding the bases after a game-winn…
