Another Church Burns and Very Few Much Seem to Care

Quick question. Have you heard much about this story?

Another church burned today – the tenth in ten days. That seems like news to me, but I’m hard-pressed to find it in the top five stories on any major news site.

I’m hesitant to say for sure why that is. I’m more sure that if all the churches had mostly black congregations, instead of only five of them, it would be bigger news today. If these had been Islamic Mosques, or abortion clinics, instead of Baptist churches, I’m positive it would be the lead story this morning.

But it’s just southern Baptist churches that are burning. No big deal. Not much wondering in the MSM about who might be doing this. No pundits talking about how prevalent hatred is in our society. No Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton – ministers both – telling us we must all be involved in rooting out the criminals.

No. None of that.

Just ten burnt churches and very few leads.
