Why? Because it’s a War.

Here’s a headline that, more than anything I’ve said lately, illustrates the difference between those who understand that we’re fighting a war right now and those who don’t.

And here’s the lead:

LEEDS, England, July 14 — They were three native sons, local boys who spent their entire lives in the Leeds area, each from respected families of Pakistani descent. One had prosperous parents; another was praised for his teaching ability. Last Thursday, they met at the train station shortly after dawn and bought one-way tickets to the British capital, toting rucksacks filled with explosives.

The article boils down to this: each of these three murderers were smart, hard-working, and relatively well-off financially so why, oh why, would they kill 54 people?

The answer, very simply, is because they hate. They hate because their religion, in which they’ve been steeped for many years, taught them to hate so keenly that to kill themselves while taking out scores of infidels would earn them matchless rewards in the afterlife.

The article never quite gets near that explanation. Instead, it leaves us with the plaintive question: why?

Here’s the problem, folks. The simple truth is that we know why. We have been told why in dozens of fatwas, in thousands of angry speeches from hundreds of mosques all over the world. They, themselves, have told us that they intend to kill us simply because we are not Muslim. They leave us one choice: submit to their rule or die like cattle.

And so these men – who were not poor nor ignorant nor oppressed as we are told every day terrorists must be – strapped bombs to their backs and destroyed 54 human beings. And still – STILL – too many of us flail blindly about trying to rationalize their actions, or bang feebly at them trying to force them into preformed slots in our minds that say that terrorists must be poor unfortunates who are only striking out against the horrible injustices of a colonial West.

Those people write articles like this where they even refuse to look to the very reasons the terrorists themselves have given us time and time again.

Meanwhile, those of us in the actual “reality-based community” are taking the terrorists at their words and accept that they have declared a war on us where there can be no quarter and in which they will never surrender.

Articles like this stink of ignorance and weakness and have absolutely no place in a country at war with an implacable enemy who wants to see all of us dead. Yet, it seems all that the MSM is capable of serving us. We ought to demand more.
